13 year old Makayla is being honored at our 2nd annual Ballin fa Life Cancer Fight co-ed Flag Football event on October 12th. Makayla was diagnosed with leukemia in January of this year. She has such an amazing spirt. I spoke with Makayla on the phone recently to let her know that we would be celebrating her life by giving her her dream for a day and after saying Thank you she kept repeating "I don't know what to say, thank you so much" I could feel her smile through the phone and when talking with her mother I could hear her fighting to hold back the tears. It is such an honor for us to be able to help this beautiful princess smile through her pain.

We are gearing up for our 2nd annual Ballin For Life co-ed flag football game once again. And we are excited. but we need your help.  We will be honoring cancer fighters & survivors along with making the dream of a child battling cancer come true.  To nominate a child for the "Dream for a Day" email us from the website the child's name, age, the name of the cancer they are battling, how long have they been battled it and give us 3 things they wish for.

We ask for 3 to ensure that we are able to make at least one of their dreams comes true. visit our webpage to contact us.  Also if you would like to nominate someone to be honored at our Cancer evet please email us. To be honored they do not have to be a child, just battling cancer or a cancer survivor. Thank you all for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at the game in October.

Our partnership with Southern Fried, the second largest poetry compention in the country was a great success. We visited two hospitals in New Orleans. On Thursday June 6 we visited Children's Hospital with poets from Hawaii and Cali. It was amazing I think the poets were more excited than the children were. We colored and did puzzles with some of the children and speant time just talking to them and helpign them smile through their pain. On June 7 we visited Ochsner ahd hung out with some amazing little people. We even got to do a puppet show for this it was awesome We had a greart time and lookign forward to doing it yet again.

#PIMCB May Madness Poetry & Dance event was a huge success. It stormed the day of the event but people still came out to support. The palce was packed. We gave 15 year old Greg who is battlign a severe case of sickle ceel and has 6 strokes a dream for a day. along with a #PIMCB plaque for being a sickle cell fighter & survivor. His dream was to have a computer so we gave him one.

We also honored 6 year old Jude at our May Madness event. He has Autism and received a Poetry with a Purpose award.

The week before the event we were asked by Latonya Norton WDSU 6 News reporter to come on their mornign show to talk about our organization & our May Madness event.

We were contacted the day of the event by Soul of the South TV Network a station that will air nationally on May 27, 2013. They heard about what we were doing for sick children and asked if they could come and interview me along with some of the other artist & film some of the event. I was so humbled & honored.
